Schedule

Our daily schedule is an integrated mix of quiet, group-time, free play, teacher directed and child initiated time. Our curriculum is unit-based, and class specific.  The materials and equipment in the room changes to a degree with each unit, keeping the environment interesting and challenging for the children.  A sample of a typical preschooler's day is listed below.  Our toddler classrooms also have a daily schedule which looks similar to the schedule below; however, includes more unstructured play.  The schedule in our infant classroom is centered around the individual student needs in the room at any given time.  Classroom specific schedules can be requested during tours.
Breakfast / Arrival:   A time to sit with peers and eat breakfast, be greeted by staff and settle in before beginning the day.

Circle Time:   Unit themes includes group activities of weather, calendar, attendance, sharing of experiences, and planning for the day.

Interest Centers:   An active work or play period with individual child selected activities.  Interaction with other children and the teacher is encouraged.

Jesus' Time:   The children learn about and share Jesus' love and forgiveness
through Bible Stories, songs and finger plays.

Snack:   As the children help prepare the table and snack, good table manners,
taking turns and quiet conversation are stressed.

Large Motor Time:   A group time for active games and for use of our equipment in the large motor areas.  We have a full sized indoor gym and a large fenced in outdoor playground. This time is designed to enhance large muscle development and coordination.

Circle Time: Language Experiences:   A time for pantomiming, dramatizing, finger plays, stories, games, flannel board stories, songs, and sharing in literature experiences. Reading readiness is encouraged and enhanced.

Lunch Time:   A social time with mixed age peers, followed by large motor play or interest centers.

Rest Time:  A quiet time for rest or sleep. Your child will have his/her own cot and blanket to lay with while listening to stories, music, or sleeping.

These are followed by another round of Large Motor, Snack and Interest Center time until parent pick up.
